Just Tried it on my A03.(the 2x4all)
Was'nt able to write @X2 the ritekG03 with imgtool/Nero (power calibration error with the 1.90) , an it's now working.

1X I use, is still working with perfect read speeds in DVD Speed (a straight line, no gaps) with Ritek G03 (as I had before).

Just, to make the patcher work under XP, I set it to Windows 98 compatibility mode.

I can't get to the site, I keep getting "Internet Explorer returns an error on the address you just entered or clicked" no matter which link I try.

Can someone send me a copy of the A03 firmware?

I tried 1.40 on my 104 and now I can't burn a thing.. at 1x or 2x.
I get power calibration errors in Nero.. I've tried two different media that have been working great at 1x. Does anyone know if 1.40 supports 1x burning or if it forces 2x no matter what you chose in Nero for speed?
Now I'm dead in the water and I can't get the drive to take a downgrade. :scared:

Update:
This was using Nero 5.5.9.17 and I just upgraded to the new 5.5.10.0 and it made no difference. I also get corrupted DVD-RW discs when I try to erase them.. (rendered useless)

Stay away from this firmware.

Update2:
Ok.. succeeded in downgrading back to 1.32 official and am burning again @ 1X.. The two RWs that I tried to erase with 1.4 are still toast. It did something to them and they now look like non-erasable media to Nero.
I think I'm done trying hacked firmware with my precious burner. :(

I tried 1.40 all2x on my 104 and it is working great at 2x, did not try 1x. Will have to do more testing to get any real results

I just upgraded and now I can't burn anymore. I'm going to try to flash again. If not hopefully I can downgrade.

I had problems with my A03 and the new 2x4all. When I opted to burn at 1x it always seemed to fudge the disc. Thankfully I was able to downgrade pretty easily and install Pioneer's v2.00.

All I did was add v2.00's UPGDVD.exe with v1.90 firmware files. Then I used the /f option and it worked. I've seen some people say they had to make a shortcut to UPGDVD and then edit the shortcut to read UPGDVD.EXE /F.

I'll try that when I get home. Thanx.

Continuing on this thread, I burned about 7 or 8 more Ritek G03's on my 104 at 2X with 1.40 for all. All have burned w/o error.

LOOKS LIKE THIS NEW 1.40 FIRMWARE IS GOOD STUFF

Then my suspicions are that this firmware will not work at all with some 1x compatible media but will work with select 2x functional media (not specifying true 2x media necessarily but 1x media that will burn at 2x with 1.40-2x4all firmware) Not very good firmware then if you are so limited to the media it will run with. It just gives calibration errors trying to write to two different 1x media that I have used with great success at 1x with stock firmware. So I suspect this 1.40 doesn't allow burning at 1x either but forces a 2x burn and pukes on media that doesn't comply.

Here is my status with 2.00 2x4all on A03.

Perfect burn @X1 for Bulkpaq Gen 3 (1 coaster (I/O errors) out of 20, wich is better than what I get before with 1.90 2x4all

bad burn @X2 on Bulkpaq Gen3, no miracle

Perfect burn on Ritek G03 @X1, with a splendid speed curve with DVDSpeed

Burned Ok, play fine on Ritek @X2, but a speed Curve with DVDspeed which is quite bad, like a bulkpaq @X1
I get most of the time a power calibration error with the 1.90.

So for me, it seems a better firm.
