i recently bought a yamaha dvd s530 and i cant get fast forward/backward in svcds to work. it just stops when i push the button. the discs play fine, also chapters do work. i tried nero and vcdeasy for burning and also different brands of cdrs.
anybody know anything about that ? a magical setting for nero or somewhat ? :)

Hey, I have a Yamaha S530 and the FF works fine with the SVCD's I have ripped. One thing I have noticed is that with the DVD remote you need to hold the button down for a bit before it goes into x4, then you can hit it once more to go to x32. I use the remote I got with my Yamaha reciever, since it has seperate buttons >| and >>. For SVCD I use the latest DVD2SVCD with DaemonTools and Nero. Its a great DVD player.

thanks for your answer, i still cant get it to work. instead of starting with ff/rew when i push the button for a while it just stops. :(
i somewhat "solved" the problem by using full dvd resolution (704x576) for svcds, these discs worked. i only changed the resolution, nothing else. very strange.
but when i think about it, its not that bad because i dont have to reencode them if i put them to dvd-r in the future. :)
