I have many AVI movies, which I wish to put on DVD+R, which can be played on a stand alone DVD player.

What is the best way to convert AVI form to DVD form?
Is there any software to do this?
Thanx.

when i had this question
->nobody<- helped me

after long searching i found the new winoncd6 dvd version
to do the job quite well, although it doesn't let u set the resolution

converting by hand the vid to mpg2 via cce/tmpeg worked
audio to ac3 via ac3machine sucked, maestro didn't accepted it then
audio to ac3 via sonic foundrys ac3encode, maestro accepts it, but sound is crap(only noise)

Thank you, mrgone!

I searched "winoncd6 dvd version" without success.
Where did you get it?

I have found one solution. Using NeroVision Express with MPEG2/DVD plug-in, I could convert a 250,933-kB AVI file to a 3.89-GB VIDEO_TS file. It plays well on PowerDVD 4, but after burning it to a disc, the disc is put in my stand-alone DVD player, and there is NO sound!

Further this process is v-e-r-y s-l-o-w! It takes more than 4 hours on my Pentium 4, 2.4 G machine (RAM 512 MB).

Question: How can I get sound? It is there since PowerDVD gives sound.

Any help would be appreciated heartly.
