How to Convert from WMV9 to DVD [Archive]

I have a file that is in WMV9, and would like to get it converted into MPEG-2, so I can burn it on a DVD. It plays fine in Windows Media Player 7.0. When I open it in GraphEdit, and hit play, only a gray screen appears. It only plays as a gray screen in Windows Media Player 6.4. In addition when I use the DirectShowSource filter in avisynth to frameserve to VirtualDub, it shows up as a gray screen as well.

I've searched here and the net and tried every method with no luck.

I downloaded Windows Media version 9, and everything seems to be working.
