strip audio except DTS, but leave dummy 0x80?

I am able to strip out the audio using IFOEdit so that only the DTS stream at 0x89 remains.

This plays fine in my Panasonic 82 player.

However, I do have one player that is very unhappy there is no 0x80 stream.

I would like to have 0x80 stripped out because of the size of the extra stream - and the convenience of having it play DTS with no setup.

Is there a way to include a dummy 0x80 stream that takes up no room - and somehow make the DTS the 'default' stream?

Vstrip will let you remap the audio streams...
get vstrip and the gui and give this a go.
I dare say that there is probably another solution that involves changing the ifo...

The author of DvdDecrypter told me that the DTS 0x89 stream could not be remapped.

I want to get rid of the other streams - and I can do this easily - but one player refuses to play unless there is a 0x80 stream.

Just use IfoEdit and click VobExtras-->Strip Streams
Uncheck "CORRECT IFO TABLES"
by default IfoEdit check this option. If you uncheck it, the ifo will tell the player there is a "dummy" 0x80 stream. this is not true, but my player believed that :sly:

rmtaibo - what has been working for me is to take all the VOB files (no menu, extras, just the main movie) and create new IFOs for them. Then I strip them and have IFO Edit create new IFOs for that - and then GetVtsSectors - and I can burn with ImgTool and play with no menu and DTS as the default.

This works in a Panasonic 82 - with no problems.

I have one player that doesn't like this (my HDTV recorder card) - and I bet that it would choke trying to play an 0x80 that didn't exist.

I was kind of hoping there was a way to have an 0x80 stream of just silence, which would be rather small.

But this is probably a program developer's task to have it work smoothly (and I guess the IFO Edit guru is busy on the DVD XCopy program).

Oh well - sure would be nice to be able to fit it all on one DVD (in many cases). Maybe when he gets bored with creating consumer stuff with limitations - he will want to create some more interesting hacker stuff again.
