Are these same burners?
Are you doing them at the same time?
Have you tryed switching the IDE cable connections/master-slave settings to see if that produces the oposite result?? (the now faster burner goes slower, and the slow one faster).
If its a different burner then it could be a variety of things, including a slower speed one, or different/slower media compatibility. If your doing them at the same time, it could be possible (though unlikely), that your system cant keep up.
If by chance the last question is true, then you will probably have to buy a IDE card, move your HD's on that, and give each burner their own IDE channel and cable, with master settings to in order to work at their top speeds.

DVD burning can be taxing...even on new power machines :) I would suspect that is the cause of the increased burning time.

Ok , I just did this as well except using two 104's. First off your system 2.2P4 is PLENTY fast enough. Are both burners same model? And firmware? I am assuming you are trying to make 2 DVDs at the same time off of the same image(or files) off of the hard drive? Going the hardware route first make sure both burners are on their own IDE channel (You cannot-or should not combine them on the same IDE channel)
As mentioned get a Ultra ATA add-on card (this will give you two extra IDE ports) Ok once there put ONE burner and ONE harddrive on the UltraATA card both on their own channels as masters, put the other burner and Harddrive on the mainboard IDE ports(again both as masters.
As for software I am using Prassi and it will record both at the same time at 2x (30 min.) Will DeCrypter (sp?) allow simultanous recording?

thank you all for your responses...one burner is the hp 200i +r/rw, the other is i/o magic +r/rw, both are on the same ide cable (master/slave) & they both burn @ 2.4x, i will try your suggestions with the ultra ata ide card~what do you think about putting the 2 hard drives on raid then having the 2 burners on separate ide cables both as master...basically what i am doing is trying to make two burns simultaneously~2 burns @ 30 minutes, the only media use is memorex~50 pack @ bestbuy~$70
anyone actually accomplishes dual burns succesfully...?!

I am burning 2 DVD-Rs simultaneous all the time now. Yes put the two burners on their own IDE channels as masters, thats one big hurdle hopefully you will have success after that. I never had much luck with RAID (even though I have a RAID board) I use them as additional IDE ports.
