finally got my Prolink PixelVview PlayTV HD (thats a mouth full:))
first impressions on install is good, simply and easy, much easier then it was going from my AverMediaTV (BT878) to WinFastTV2000 (also BT878)
this having a different chipset probably helped XP not installing it as one of the aforementioned cards.
installed the drivers off the CD (1.07)
the TV reception is below average using the software supllier
i then openned iuVCR and the preview picture looked better (go figure!)
so tried a capture
seems clearer so far
heres a capture from my Winfast encoded @ 600 bitrate (i think), no audio
http://davidward.no-ip.biz/Drews%201st%20TD.avi
i found that footage again and captured in huffy again and encoded @ 600 bitrate
seems the same size so must be the same bitrate
here that is
http://davidward.no-ip.biz/iuVCRcaptureDivX.avi
you can see how it is clearer hey !
well just got started and installing a new MoBo to go with (8RDA+ )
i'll do some more tests as we go.....
done some more, TV and radio reception is excellant,
the only problem is this distortion i get, often on the edge of things and mostly with computer generated graphics, it appears to be able to be smoothed out in VD
heres and eg
http://DavidWard.no-ip.biz/iuVcrDivxeg.avi
this has been encoded in 1 pass Divx5 @ 1700 bitrate
you'll see on #81's back when he gets up, also #8 in green gets distorted too.
any ideas what that could be ??
i am thinking its more a driver issue then capture card issue
