Everytime I've used DVD2AVI so far it's worked to perfection. However, the vob files for the most recent DVD I'm trying to convert into a d2v project causes the program to automatically shutdown. The vobs will open, but when I attempt to save the project or run the preview it shuts down with the Windows message "DVD2AVI.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I've tried ripping the vobs with both SmartRipper and VStrip but it makes no difference. Is there any other way to create a d2v project that Gordian Knot can use?

Try using the latest VStrip commandline version with the -2 switch, that should create a .d2v file as well as rip a dvd.
Good luck,

ps
if that doesnt work then ill send you a alpha release of my dvd2avi_nic which you can try...

I had a very similar kind of crash some time ago, and I found out that if I selected the "64-bit SSE2 MMX" iDTC algorithm (i got a p4), DVD2AVI would crash everytime I tried to preview any mpeg2 file. So now if I want to use it, I only select it just before "save project" without previewing. Hope that helps :J
