I bought a DVD a few days back and I decided to rip it; it's 2x DVD discs and Disc1 went just swell, but when it comes to Disc2, i put it in the tray, DVD2SVCD finds the suitable .ifo, says the disc is about 25min (which is correct), but when the ripping begins .vobs (according to the program vob 1,2,3,4 should be ripped) first the ripping slows down to about 1,2mb/s instead of a constant 6-7 which i got during the Disc1 ripping progress, and to top that, it skips vob 3 and 4 AND rips 200mb of vob 1 (1gb) and 9mb of vob 2 (1gb).
The disc itself is fine, the dvd drive is brand new (asus 16x).

Any suggestions of what it could be?

Pay close attention to the numbers of the Vob's. I have accidently miss numbered them myself, it's easy to do.
What I often miss is not the last number, but the first. Most Vob files are named VTS_01_1.vob. Make sure that all the 01 numbers are the same too. Any change at all to the file name will make DVD2SVCD skip that Vob file.

Hey Mark, thanks for the quick reply, I'm afraid your suggestion didn't help in this case. The ifo is called VTS_01_0.IFO and the vobs are,
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB

This is becoming annoying

I may have mis read your post the first time. It seems like it's a ripping problem and not a numbering problem. If you don't need to rip only certain chapters try ripping with Vstrip and if all else fails try SmartRipper.
