Having some problems converting a file,
its a charlie brown xmas divx off kazaa, so kinda iffy to start with.
But i load it into dvd2svcd, its gets an error that says framerate not supported 20fps, will convert framerate. Then i let the program run and it creates a mpg file, the mpg file has audio sounding funny and way out of sync. If i try to get it to create the cd image it says its creating the file but there are neither a mpg or .cif after its done. I have tried using tmpeg to mux the .mpv and mp2 files that dvd2svcd created and it results in no audio at all. I also tried using bbmpeg to create an mpeg from the avi and it wasn't right either, froze up powerdvd. If i try to use i-author and create an image from the mpg with the wierd audio it kicks out with some error about the file, which i guess i why dvd2svcd doesn't create the .mpg and .cif file if i tell it to create a cd image. I'm about out of ideas any help would be appreciated. I tried searching but its kinda a wierd problem and couldn't get anything returned which was relevant.

Is your avi playable at all?
If you open your avi in mplayer2 (not the newer one) it can tell you about which codec is needed to play.
There you can see which framerate your movie really have.
I have seen similar problem with odd framerates.
The only way to get audio sync with them have been for me to first let avi2svcd do its job.
Then afterward count the diff in length on the video and audio part.
Then I have remade the audio with besweet with other frame rate adjustment.
Then with the new audio in place, just restart avi2svcd from the muxing.

the avi plays fine with divx codec installed,
i'll have to do some researching before i can
try your suggestions, that sounds a little advanced for
me ;) THanks for you help though

it seems the audio file avi2svcd created is 1849 sec
and the video file is 1286, not really sure where to go from here
Any help would be great

If you had the option "dont delete any files" you have several audio files.
You said that your created "mp2" file is 1849 sec.
How long is the extracted sound (mpa).
If you are lucky it is 1286 sec.
Anyway, you have to recompress your audio.
If for example the extracted audio is 1200 sec you have to make the audio longer.
The easy way of using Besweet is to get the Gui.
In Besweet you can select frame rate adjustment by select two relative number. Like from 1000 to 1072 which is more or less the same as 1200 to 1286.
One second thing.
You said that the sound was "funny".
Maybe you have odd samplingrate and/or samplingsize as well.
The spec for audio is 16 bit 44100 Hz stereo.
48000 Hz is also working.
If the audio is mono or 8 bit or some odd rate you have to correct that. Besweet have sometime problem with odd value, then you have to expand the sound with madplay. Madplay can also do frame rate adjustment. Then you can convert the wav to mp2 with besweet.
One problem is that the correction ratio you have to calculate for getting the length right must include the fact that input rate and output rate differ.
There is no foolprof method to calculate the change if you have both rate and length change at the same time because small roundoff expand through the end.
The best way is to test and see if you did the correction the right or wrong way and how many percent you where off.
To get the audio exactly as many seconds as the move takes a few tries.
Happy hunting

Hey, LCX-70M, try to load the file into Virtual Dub, and see what happens. You may have VBR audio, which tends to mess up things, especially with that odd framerate.
At this point, I'd recommend that you extract the audio as a wav file, using Virtual Dub. Then, re-encode the movie, again using Virtual Dub, with 29.97 or 25 fps, and using the wav audio file you extracted. Then see if DVD2SVCD handles it better. As you may know, DVD2SVCD has a resize bug when coverting AVI, read this thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21859, Q62 for how to get around it.
Alternatively, load your re-encoded file into TMPGEnc, and make the conversion with that....
