Let me begin by saying Im relatively new to this, and I dont quite understand the terms used in most cases. I have searched the forum thoroughly for what I need, but have had no luck.

My problem is this.

I have a DVD that contains 6 episodes of a particular show. I have ripped each episode into an .mpg file and each is now on my hard drive. I have used DVDx to do this. No problems.

When I try to put 3 onto a disk in VCD format using VCDEasy (cause 6 wont fit) the DVD player only recognises the first episode. So the other 2 are lost.

I have tried to 'merge' the .mpgs into one and burn that, but still it only plays the first, even theough the merged .mpg is the size of three.

I have succesfully ripped full movies before and used VCD format to burn onto 2 disks. Never had a problem. Just now while trying to burn more than one episode.

Obviously I am missing something very simple. I might seem dum to you guys with experience, but its all a learning curve.

HOW DO I GET THE DVD PLAYER TO RECOGNISE THE FACT THAT THERE ARE 3 EPISODES ON THE ONE DISK?

I only wish to use VCD format and Im not interested in SVCD.

Please Help.........

First off, don't double post. It's annoying and is a waste.

Second, I assume you read the VCD Faq at the VCDEasy site? And I also assume your DVD Player works with VCD. If you didn't follow the guide on the VCDEasy site, that's a good place to start.

I will start with the merged one first as it seems odd that only one episode plays with a merged .mpg. How did you merge them? TMPG tools? CMD prompt copy? VCDEasy?

Apologies for the double post. As I said i'm new and i didnt realise it was a no-no.

Anyway, thanks for the offer of help. I tried to merge using three diff programs. Combi-movie, Camels Mpeg-join and Easy Video-joiner. Same result each time. The merged mpeg showed up in my files as the correct file size (big), but in VCDEasy it showed up only with the 'stats' of the first episode (e.g. showed 22mins instead of 44mins etc) and in Windows Mpeg player, it showed the same, and when you actually watched it, it was only the first episode, even though the filesize was bigger. (Have I explaine that ok?)

My DVD does play vcd, as i say, ive done half a dozen movies with absolutely no problem.

Thanks again

Relax, I have solved the problem and have worked it out. VCDEasy has done the trick.

Many Thanks SUZAHARA !!
