xvid Black noise ! [Archive]

Is it normal that in dark scenes I get kind of Black noise!!!

Its like lot of black dots and mostly on faces or body parts!
This also happens in movie scenes were blue lighting has been used!

Is this an XVID bug!? and is there anyway not to get this anymore?

Yep
for example look at the guy on the right of the picture.
Look on his hand and you will see all the dark noise there

I Have attached a picture called: "bscap1.jpg" to my post.
But I can't see it!!!

If you can't see it either then someone please explain to me how to attach a file!

Hi there.

Looks to me like 'coring' - where the lumi range is clipped from the normal(PC) range of 0-255 (which is full) to something like 20ish-245ish (can't remember the exact values)

If it's a dvd rip and you used dvd2avi under the video tab there is an otion for selecting colour scale, make sure it is set to 'pc' not 'tv'. This should sort it.
