Permanent Subtitles even when I didn't select them?

I just tried to rip this movie which I watched without the subtitles. When D2S 1.1.0b3 was done converting the movie, I see permanent subtitles in the movie! I even tried to open the VOB's in DVD2AVI and it also shows the permanent subtitles! Quite wierd as DVD does gave me selectable subtitles.

Has anyone else has the same problem? With the DVD2AVI test, I am sure that this is not a problem with D2S encoding process but something happened while ripping the DVD to HDD.

And I used INTERNAL ROUTINES to rip this DVD. Since, this is the first time it happened and I don't have the original DVD that I can test ripping it with some other ripper and see if DVD2AVI still shows the permanent subtitles, I though someone in the group might be able to help me here.

I even tried re-ripping a chapter from the ripped movie on the HDD but it also came out with Permanent subtitles.

Don't know whether its a bug, or it's just one of those DVDs which have problems with ripping!

I still have all the VOB ripped by D2S with me and all the D2S log if that will help nail down this problem.

I guess that your problem is that you have a movie with both hardcoded subtitle and selectable. This is often done in english if anything is said in another language.
The selectable subtitle is for other language.

I have for example movies with swedish selectable subtitle and english hardcoded.
