Hi,

I've had a hunt around here for an answer to my problem, with little success. I am going to try update my drivers and maybe the kX project drivers too.

Basically I have a soundblaster live with the SPDIF out ( phono -> RCA ) going to my Yamaha RX-V530 receiver ( coaxial in ). I get 2 channel PCM no worries, my older DivX movies decode as ProLogicII and sound none to shabby. Using Creatives 5.1 surround test program ( its bollocks  ), I only get sound from the left and right speakers during the test. Also playing a DVD ( PowerDVD ) I only get left and right, dialog missing etc. My receiver is set to auto and reports PCM only.

Can anyone point me in the right direction. :)

Just a question to help get up to speed, but you have SPDIF enabled in PowerDVD correct?

Yes, pretty sure. In Configuration->Audio I am selecting SPDIF out from the drop down menu. Its a SB0060 - Soundblaster Live! 5.1 - EMU10K1. PowerDVD v4.0. Receiver - RX-V530 (http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/av/products/ht/rxv530.html)

I tried a friends Hercules game theater XP (optical) with Power DVD and it worked fine. Though just like the SB Live his 5.1 test didn't output anything but center channel. I am guessing that in each case ( Live! and Hercules ) they output these signals via their individual line level outputs (L,R,C,RR,LR,SW) and not SPDIF ?

Make sure you have a Mono mini-jack connector plugged into the Sblive as this is a requirement to carry the signal into your amp.
