View Full Version : Has field order been fixed in new Craft release?

I am doing interlaced encoding jobs and am wondering if the field order has been fixed in the latest release of Craft.

I realize I could deinterlace but I have read in many places that you loose quality from doing so. I'm not concerned about playback on a PC, the video will be strictly be played back on a NTSC television.

Can anyone help with a method that works every time for getting the correct field order using Craft.

Here are my procedures:

SmartRipp

DVD2AVI

VAPI

VirtualDUb resize

Craft

TIA!

Can't you just run pulldown on the encoded stream?

Nope...pulldown is for Progressive video!

Pulldown also lets you change the field dominance. I use the
version with the user interface, so I can't remember what
the CLI command is. -TFF odd/even, I think. Just make sure
to add in a -nopulldown first to disable the 3:2 pulldown
removal.
Still, it *would* make a lot more sense for the program to
correctly handle interlaced material that's lower field first...
