First Atempt at Authoring

I have just authored my first dvd usung Ulead DVD factory SE.
It was a 4 min vhs clip captured in Mpeg2 12mbits/sec ( VBR )using Hauppauge VCR 250 capture card.
I then trimmed the clip and authored using DVD factory.
The clip was of a motorcycle test, the resulting DVD produced had audio and video sync but was very jittery in the picture when there was any movement on screen.
Can someone advise me on what method and software to use, I am very dissapointed with the results I have achieved.

ok, assuming you made Ulead DVD Factory reencode your footage to a DVD Compliant bitrate, i think that it got the field order wrong. you may need to reverse the flags before you import the footage into DVD Factory.

i also used sonic dvdit pe and got the same result.
It was the first time i have used this software.
the original encoding was at 12mbits / sec and the program re-encoded for DVD writing.
I don't wish to appear stupid but what do you mean about field order and reversing the flags before importing to DVD factory ?

a frame is made up of 2 fields, odd or even, or they also can be called top and bottom.

the easiest way to swap the field order is to use DVMPEG Easy Changer (which works fine in the demo)

Thanks for the advice, It worked fine. ?
Why should the field order cause me so much trouble.
and why would DVD factory reencode this way for burning.
I thought my hardware encoder card was just doing the job badly.
I would never have though a simple operation with DVMPEG easy changer would be so effective.

DV is bottom field first, most other avis are top field first. somewhere in your conversions a program got it wrong ;)

you can always use Iuvcr to import the video, this will compress it if you use the correct codec, and then use CCE 2.5 or tmpeg to encode it for DVD burning,
demux the video file, i have always found it better to process the streams differenty m1v or m2v mp2 or wav
Open ifoedit and author, enter mpv and mp2 and strip to VIDEO_TS FOLDER
open ifoedit and get vts sectors and remeber to save the file
restart ifoedit and load main movie file and press dvd play this will ensure it is correct,
Create image
And burn with dvd decrypter
very quick and easy and excellent result
