How to reduce m2v file in TMPGENC

I have a M2V file of around 5GB that i ripped from a movie and wondered how to reduce this to 4GB using TMPGENC. Have tried to do this using the wizard, but it won't let me adjust the slider at the end to fill out my project to 4GB. I have ES video as my setting and i hoped to use this reduced file together with the ac3 file in Maestro to produce my movie.

Well this is not an answer, but a alternative. If you have the VOB files on your HD, use them (+ DVD2AVI project and TMPGTemplate.txt) in TMPGEnc to get a new smaller m2v, then put it all back together in Maestro. This info is avaliable in the guides:

in the tmpgenc wizard, dont let it start encoding straight away (at the end) and change the bitrate, then start encoding.

What do i use to calculate the bitrate? What do i select at the beginning using the wizard? Linear pcm audio and layer 2 audio are the only choices when setting for VBR, and as i only have a video stream these seem inapropriate, as they produce an audio stream as well, making my file a lot smaller!

I select layer 2 audio, although I dont think it really matters as I'm not doing audio. Then follow the wizard to the screen where you can adjust the size of the new file, then continue till you save the file and start encoding. At that point stop encoding and check ES stream only and press encode. This gives you an elementary screen with the parameters you selected in the wizard.
