I am trying to backup Commando and i want to get rid of the annoying copyright warnings. The problem is that the video_ts.vob file contains all the copyright warnings for all languages and nothing else. Therefore when i strip stream id's with ifoedit and i dont choose to keep any id's and ifoedit does nothing. I cant simply just remove video_ts because it wont be compatible with the dvd standard.

I was told you can make a video_ts.vob file with a 0 file size so the player just skips that file and plays the main movie. How do you do that, or is there another way to completely remove the whole vob stream?

Thanks.

Tano,

If size is not an issue, just select the vod-ids containing any warnings and press "Delete Playback". You won't change you video_ts.vob size but all your FBI warnings won't play.

Thanks, that worked. When i used DVDPLAY with ifoedit it displayed the main menu straight away, but in my dvd player the movie was played first. The menu is still there but u must press the menu button to activate it. Has anyone had this problem (cos i thought Dvd-play in Ifoedit was WYSIWYG)

How did you go about with your delete playback method? You mention your FBI warnings reside in video_ts.ifo. Did you go to the bottom of the screen, Language Menu Unit # section and preview the vob-ids. When you know which one pertains to your warnings, do a delete playback there and the (uses VOB-ID #) disappears. Remember to save.

You can delete playback in the cells in PGCs but problems arose and your symptom sounds exactly as others reported.

Hi all.
I am having a similar problem removing vob ids, but space is a problem and I want my vob reduced to zero or as close to zero as possible. Are they any other methods of removing the ids with ifoedit or any other program.
Thanks in advance.

What can of problem are you experiencing? Kind of simple. The menus with VOB-ids can be viewed initially with IFOedit DVD Play. If you have trouble viewing it with IFOedit, the next alternatives are DVD2AVI and VOBrator. They also tell you what VOB-Id your viewing. Now, any VOB-Ids in Language Menu Unit section will be strip through your "Menu Extras" button. For VOB extras, you can strip unwanted languages and subtitles to get your files smaller.

IFOedit is a excellent tool for stripping.

If you burn using Nero, you don't want any files stripped down to 0KB as Nero complains about files less than 2KB.
