problem playback in standalone player, ok using pc player

(1) I have been burning dvd-rw that plays in my sony. Lately, some movies will jump back to the beginning of the movie once it gets to certain points, or just stop. When I play the same disc in my apex, the movie will stutter badly at those points but will keep playing. I try to check on pc and it plays fine; I only see a slight slowness at those problem points. Any idea how to fix this? I am assuming there is a problem with my files, since I try on several dvd-rw and they all do the same thing at the same point.

(2) another problem I have with some movies are dvd-rw will play in apex and pc dvd, but not play in my sony, shows c-13-00. Any idea what's the problem?

It's a media issue.
Apex can read everything. Sony (C13 error) really don't

On Sony standalone Bulkpaq G3 or G4 seems Ok, with some freezing at the end of the movie sometimes. Of course burned @X1, and with ImgTool for better compatibility.
Beware, It won't play in my PS2 V4.

Else ? Pioneer, Apple, Ritek G03 works.

And many Sony standalone do not read DVD-RW even if DVD-R are OK...

But my 2 sony's play both dvd-rw and dvd-r. I always make sure the dvd-rw play ok in my sony but I burn onto a dvd-r.
I guess I just want to find out if it is more a software/bad file problem or not since if I burn the same movie to different dvd-rw, the same problem seem to occur at the same points.

Give a try to ImgTools, it's free, and you will probably impressed by the better compatibility you get that way.

I just realized that all the disc I have problems with had been rempeged to get it under 4.7GB. So I ripped part of the originals to fit under 4.7GB and burn to the same dvd-rw I had problems with. Viola, no jumping/loopback or freeze problem. This leads me to conclude that the problem lies with the m2v file after it's been rempeged. Anyone has similar experience and possible workaround?
I use ReMpeg2 always and remux m2v with ifoedit. ReMpeg options: match source, prediction, integer DCT.
