Hi,

I have a question about Ripping a Dvd, Suppose I rip a dvd with Dvd Decryptor, I ripp only the move without extras.

When I take a look at the total size of the vob's on my HardDisk it is under 4.3 GB.

Then I use VobEdit to Demux all available streams (Audio, video and subtitles).

After that I use IfoEdit to use the m2v file that I got from VobEdit and I select the audio tracks that I want and the Subs that I want. I let IfoEdit reassemble my Dvd to create new Vob's.

After that I edit the IFO files and burn the new DVD.

Now my question ====> Is this a good way of working or should I really use some tool like ReMepg2 to recode my Vob's to an m2v file instead of using VobEdit to do that. And if you use ReMpeg2 do you get a loss of quality?

Thanks a lot for the help and I would likt to point out that I've learned a lot from the forum. Thanks.

Djorre,
Why complicate things? Since you have the main movie VOBS and they're under 4.3 GB, then you can already fit them on one disk without doing any fancy gyrations (unless you just want to experiment).
Go into ifoedit and click on create ifo's. This will create the VIDEO_TS.IFO AND .BUP AND THE VTS_01_0.IFO AND .BUP. You need to make sure your VOBS are numbered VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, etc, for ifoedit to work. Once ifoedit is done creating the ifo's , then burn with NERO or whatever else you use. No need to do anything else(Get VTS sectors, etc).
