Hi!

I have a bit of an unusual problem: I've got a DVD that is actually Zone 1, but was made in Hong Kong. So basically, whenever i use Gordian knot to do any subtitle work, the names of the subtitle streams get garbed, and I can't work with them.

Could anyone please recommend the easiest, most effective way of burning subtitles onto a movie when using GKnot? Perhaps using some other program?

Mmy second question is whether anyone knows of a program that can trim a couple of seconds off a DivX AVI?

Thanx a lot,

Mike

I can answer your second question: Nandub. Select the section you wish to keep with the Home and End keys, set video and audio to Direct Stream Copy and Save AVI...

Nandub is a special version of Vdub, used by Gknot because it comprehends many different types of audio, such as .ac3 and vbr .mp3 streams.

For more assistance, you can review lots of different procedures in http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm.

Regarding subtitles -- Vobsub is the tool used inside the Gknot suite. If it has difficulty with this particular dvd, you might try Subrip. See http://www.doom9.org/subtitle_guide.htm.

This is actually really helpful, thanx a lot! Heh, I guess this is exactly what i needed, because VirtualDub itself always complains about my 192kbps AVIs.

Thanx! ;)
