I'm using besweet (v1.4 and gui .6b61)
and i'm having problems.
i tried creating a mp3 using the default dsp_guru_128kbps setting
from a VOB input file but under my win2k set up, it just runs for 2 seconds (according to besweet) producing nothing. reinstalled, still same.

so i re-ripped it from dvd decryptor ver2(demuxed it) to an ac3 file and now it comes out gargled !!!

thinking it was a bad rip i tried again, but the option to rip it has disappeared. why has version 3 dropped the ac3 demux from vob !!!
i've lost my dvdDecryptor ver2 install exe...can someone HELP !!!!!

while we on the subject i've seen some other methods of encoding audio, any more comments on preferences such vstrip or dvd2avi ?

Version 3 of dvd decrypter only reads from physical dvd devices. It reads 'sectors' now and not 'files' so it cant work with files already on your hdd.
The options to rip ac3 from vobs is still there, just you need to have the actual dvd - or at least an ISO of the files, which you can mount in DAEMON Tools and then rip from.

call me stupid, but where is it ?

i select :
"stram processing" tag
- check "enable stram processing"
- select demux
- uncheck all but audio i want to demux.....and thats it ?

i seem to just rip the vob and thats it.
by demuxing, am i using the wrong term ? i was hoping to get an ac3 file to drop into besweet.

Make sure the audio file you have 'checked' is also highlighted BEFORE you click it over to 'demux'. Those options are on a per stream basis.
