I guess this is kind of a newbie question. I have been ripping dvds for quite a while now. Just recently I have been doing more and more vcd and svcd, somebody told me that it is possible to make a vcd with just audio I would really like to do this because then I could record it digitally to my md through the optical out and I could record like 3hrs unfortunately, I don't know how. The person who told me said I could use tmpgenc and use a template however my version of tmpg is a little old and it doesn't seem to have this template. I have searched the web, this site and vcdhelp for a while trying to find an answer to this. I would really appreciate it if someone could show me how or point me in the direction of a good guide for this. Thanks.

Ok, I have done some more searching and it would seem that I have to make something like a slideshow with pictures/still video and then multiplex the mp2 with that, which isn't that great its probably going to take more time than I thought and probably more time that it is worth :( oh well maybe once I get more time next week.

Wow, that was december. Today I finally got around to making a audio vcd. Actually it is really easy and it works. However, I think it is important that people know how to do this since many people waste IMO a lot of money on mp3 dvd players when their old dvd players can actually play mp2 audio. Therefore I have written a little guide to help. Probably, this is the wrong forum for this now though, if so hopefully someone will move it to the appropiate forum. It is actually really really easy, probably you don't even need a guide, I just needed to do something to amuse myself tonight while I was making these vcds. Hopefully someone will find it useful.
