Ok, I have had and am having many problems with this. I want to take a 2 part avi movie, you all know how many movies are in two parts, and convert it into mpeg or mpegs that can be put on a DVD for use in a DVD player. I have tried TMPEG and VirtualDub as a combo, with no success. I've tried merging the avi first, then encoding, and also just doing each separtely and then putting the mpegs both on the DVD, both methods result in sound problems. I've tried looking through every tutorial available with no luck. Now I have CCE, and I've heard its the best. Can someone give me a detailed instruction on the best way to convert a 2 part .avi movie into a working mpeg-2 file that can be put on a DVD, through the use of CCE and any other program neccessary.
Thanks all
This seems like a really cool place, glad to be posting here now.

Your question is way too generic/broad for anyone to answer here. But you can find the answer by simply reading all the wonderful guides and faq's on this site.
Go to www.doom9.org
and look in the GUIDES section. Start doing some reading..then if you ask more specific questions you'll get some answers.
Good luck!

I've been doing reading, however I can't find a straight tutorial for CCE on how to convert .avi to mpeg-2, only the guide that explains how to get the "best" out of CCE.

CCE comes with a manual in PDF Format. its in the same folder where the program files are. It should provide enough information to show you how to open an AVI file and convert it into mpeg-2 using CCE
