Multiple VOB ID's

Hi guys,

I am new to DVD authoring, basically using just IfoEdit.
I got a problem with re-muxing streams which originally were on a dual-layer DVD. The new .ifo file shows the time and the chapters only of the first layer.All the chapters and subtitles of the second one are gone.PowerDVD do play the new movie but with no subtitles in the second part. When I try to correct using IfoUpdate, it says there's no space for PGCs.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Were you actually remuxing (i.e., replacing the MPEG-2 stream by
a re-encoded stream with lower bitrate so that the movie can fit
in a single DVD-R) or re-authoring (i.e, creating a whole new DVD
title from streams - video, audio, subpicture) ?

The reason I ask is that I've had the same problem as you but ONLY
when re-authoring a DVD backup with 2 VOB-IDs (e.g., STAR WARS I&II).
There, the subtitle stream would end early with an error message.
However, if I re-muxed the re-encoded MPEG-2 file with the original
DVD files, even while stripping unwanted audio and subtitle streams at
the same time, everything went smoothly.

Actually I do this:

Demux Video,audio,subtitles and CellTimes using VobEdit.
Re-encode with ReMPEG-2
Multiplex everything back with IfoEdit.
Then everything plays well until where the layer break was,
after that there's no subtitles and chapters.
When I open the new .ifo with IfoEdit it shows the movie lenghth
only 'til the layer break.

I don't think you need to de-mux video to re-encode with ReMPEG.
Can't it read the VOB files directly (you create a file with IFOEDIT)?
It may be happening that VOBEDIT only de-muxes the first VOB-ID and
so you get what you put in...
