Problems with Goldmember

Is anyone having problems Backing up Goldmember? I Split it to 2 disks and it plays on the computer but not on the stand alone.

I just backed up Goldmember, region 1, movie only. It plays fine. The whole movie only fits on to 1 DVD-R and does not need encoding.

Why (2) disks? I saw the extras on Goldmember and they were there only slightly entertaining.

I’ve always wondered why someone would split a DVD on to 2 disks. I can understand why you might want the extras in on some DVD’s, but why not encode the video until you can get it down on 1 disk?

I see what you mean, it does fit on one DVD. I'm doing region 1 too.
I was trying to get the extras. There seems to be some new protection on this disk. I have discovered it is how they do the extras. The extra's show up in the movie and you can press "enter" to seem them. If you do this its bye-bye. Also if you ripp the movie with the menu's, right in the beginning it goes bye-bye (error 13 on my player).

I'm going to try just the main movie and recreate the IFO's

The main movie works, you just cannot keep the extra's.
Oh well, no biggie.

May I ask how you go about encoding? I prefer TMPGenc but what's your method? I assume you've had success at this task.

I use TMPGEnc too. but you don't need it for this movie. For this I just used Ifoedit and stripped all the extra's out and created new IFO files for it. The protection seems to be in the begenning or when ever you go to a extra.
Like I said if I reencode, I use TMPGEnc, but I sometimes get audio out of sync, so lately I have been splitting to 2 disks.

I also burned the movie only to 1 dvdr without any problems. Its the easiest way. Why give yourself headaches by trying to split it?

That's not true I got the whole DVD burned to 1 DVD+R with the extras. I need help with the subtitles though. I can get everything but the subtitles to rip. If someone can help me I would appresicate it.

PAL (R2) is also a 1 DVD-R Rip, If I recall there is also a dummy PGC, just ignore number 2 and RIP PGC1 to your disk, let IFOEdit do it's magic and BINGO!!
