Ive got Spiderman region 2 here

I've stripped it using ifo-edit, re-encoded with CCE and now have the following 2 files

mpv file & ac3 file

how do I replace my VOB's into the place of the original VOB's so that DVD still works exactly like the original?

haven't had much success in this department

cheers

p.s. please don't point to guides (read loads), I would like someone to actually explain how to do it and why if possible an explaination of what is going on
I am on a steep learning curve but I'm now comfortable with everything up until this point, so baffle me

You need to author the dvd to get valid Vob files from your audio (ac3) and video (mpv) streams. First you can rename the extension of your .mpv file to .m3v and then import these streams into Maestro (read the guides). Then compile your project to create your new set of vob files. Then make an image of these files and burn that image.

I can author the DVD no problem, but what I need to know is what to do after creating the VOB's, but also which is the best way to create the VOB's in the 1st place, (I can use either ifo-edit, DVD Maestro)

I end up with a VTS_01_0.IFO & VTS_01_0.BUP and so many VTS_01_x.VOB's
I cannot just simply replace the original VOB's so how do I replace the VTS_01_x.VOB's and keep the original structure of the DVD?

When I look at the original VTS_01_0.IFO it has 28 Chapters but 40 cells, yet in my new VTS_01_0.IFO I have 28 Chapters and 28 cells

How do you successfully replace the VTS_01_x.VOB's and also maintain the original DVD structure

Cheers

You're not going to like what I have to say at first but, you have not read the guides thoroughly enough if you have to ask how to replace the VOB's. There are TONS of examples on reintegrating into the original structure here. Not to mention two guides that I myself have written. However, you're new and this title is misleading so I'm going to cut you some slack. ;)

I've not done this title but I do know it has a "White Rabbit" like feature called "Spider Sense". If this disc is anything like the Matrix (and I believe it is), then you are in for trouble. My recommendation to you? Find another title to learn on! Imagine it this way... Single PGC titles? The easiest. Multi-PGC titles? Vary from just "harder" to "MUCH harder"! Titles that require recreation by vobID? HUGE pain in the ass!! Now, guess what kind you're trying to learn on? hehe ;)

Thanks for reply

I guess I picked some good ones then, cos I tried with Star Wars AOTC previously and again stumbled at the reauthoring point

it had the same structure also, less chapters than cells

why is this?

can u point me to some guides? so I understand how to do this as you mentioned you have done 2 yourself

Cheers
