I have looked in past postings but cant really see an answer to my question, despite there being a lot of AOTC questions.
I have been backing up various DVDs for some time, using Ifoedit and ReMpeg2 to lower the bitrate, and have been unable to notice any problem.
Until now that is, after stipping the unwanted streams etc, I have on my HD a working copy (Alien Subtiles etc all working).
Now with my calculator I worked out I needed to lower the bitrate to 84%, this worked fine and the finished files just fitted onto the disc.
I played the film, and the first thing I noticed was the Pulsing of colour during the A LONG TIME AGO and also in following written bit.
The film then settled down but not for long some scences were excellent but others were showing the pulsing and others were blocking.
I have my thoughts on why its doing it, but I would like someone to tell me the reason and a way to get round it.
