Hi All
I'm aware of the Issues with WB titles and the necessity to remove the intial WB logo before encoding with CCE. I do this and never have any problems with reauthoring audio under IFOEdit 0.95 (although I often find it necessary to ignore the 80 ms delay recommendation in order to correctly synch the audio)
However I have had issues with at least two WB titles; Three Kings and Training Day
With Three Kings (1 * 5.1 Audio Track, 1* 2.0 Audio Track, 1 Sub) at about 60 min into the film the remaining subtitles simply whizzed past extremely fast in about 5/10 seconds leaving no subtitles for the rest of the film
With Training Day (1 * 5.1 Audio Track, 1* 2.0 Audio Track, 1 Sub)the subtitles simply stop after Chapter 15. This is not a high bitrate section of the film and out of curiosity I encoded a 2nd time at max 7500 just to be sure that the 2 audio streams and the sub stream were not pushing me over 10.08. In the end I just dumped the subs and everything reauthored fine so no panic but...
Now clearly the commonalities here are WB and multiple audio streams
but I would imagine that a max rate of 7500 should leave plenty of bandwith for audio and 1 sub. Is the message from ifoedit re. data arriving too late related to synchronisation and if so is this a sub synchronisation error or is it really pointing to exceeding the maximum dvd bitrate?
I 've reviewed this thread which seems most relevant but it tailed off without any definitive answer (see below) so I thought I might kick it off again and see if people have resolved this issue or . If this is deemed inappropriate or a repetition of a dead thread then I apologise in advance.
One other small thing that is impacting on my ability to analyse the results of the reauthoring session is that Ifoedit 0.95's authoring log screen only intermittently appears during reauthors.
By that I mean that it is displayed only on some authoring sessions not that it appears/disappears during any one authoring session.
I closed it the first time I used version 95 and have had this behaviour ever since. It now occasionally appears but I cannot discern a pattern to it.
Of course I have reintalled but this has not made an appreciable difference. Neither have I been able to locate a registry entry that seems relevant and have not noticed any postings on this minor issue in this forum. I use XP SPK1.
Sorry about the long post. My thanks to all contributors to this site for such a wonderful resource.
