hi, i have a question about multi pass setting in CCE ,
i just finished to encode the one pass vbr and now im in the phase of the multipass vbr.
Now after the encoding started i went to work and now that im back, the proccess finished and the program exit (not error , its look like its should happened ) ,now in the guide its written to press edit again on the d2v-vfapi.avi file - my question is : I need to import again the file because i need to start the program again , so do i need to import the original avi file which i imported in the onepass vbr and if so where do i need to save the new output (in the same directory i saved the onepass or in other ? ) or maybe i need to import a file from the output files i got from the one pass vbr ??

I think this post is in the wrong forum...

btw. after the multipass encoding it's a little late to open anything again.
Try the vbr One Pass, load your project again and make all the changes described in the guides. After that start the multipass encoding.

yer import the same file, CCE should have created a mpv and a few other files on the first pass. In the second (multi variable) you are going to overwrite that large mpv file. The reason for starting with 'one pass' is so that the second pass (Variable Bit Rate) can use the data from the first pass to guess the end file size. Here you can change the avg bitrates and CCE will give an educated guess on the expected output size. The other advantage of the variable bit rate (2nd pass) is that u can parse through the whole mpeg stream and adjust the bit rate manually as desired.

If you are constructing a dvd then you will only need to do 'one pass' using CCE if u make an educated guess for the bitrate (and the file size is under 4.3 gig). Then u simply import this file into your authoring program.
