Hi
I'm wondering what I should chose voor a DVD->SVCD.
MP2 or MP3.
I'll probably want to use Dolby Prologic 2.
But my main goal is to put a SVCD on only 1 800MB cd.
So MP2 or MP3?
And what program? HeadAC3he or Besweet?

SVCD supports only MP2.

So why do I find the choice between mp2 and mp3 in the SVCD DVD2AVI guide?
By the way: to use Dolby Prologic II in SVCD which program should I chose?
Thanks

Which guide are you talking about? MP3 is not mentioned in Doom9's DVD2SVCD guide. WarpEnterprises is correct: For SVCD you have to use MP2. Anything else in non-standard and has a high probability of not being supported in most DVD players.

For DPL2 use either HeadAC3he or BeSweet, whatever you like best. Don't go too low in bitrate, else the surround effect will be destroyed.

Sorry, my fault.

Regarding your question why MP3 is mentioned: Doom9's guides are built in a modular way, i.e. parts of many guides are referenced in other guides as well. You are probably talking about the "AC3 to MP2/MP3 transcoding" part, which is not for SVCD creation alone. You can skip anything that's MP3 related in your case.
