I thought about, seting up a small computer linked to my main computer with all my DivX, SVCD, VCD, ect on it. So I can update it with all the movies i'm fixing to do. Second I would build in to the small computer a TV-crard, so I can watch TV on it.
My question is now, is it possible to use a TV instead a monitor for a computer. If yes how can I do that? TV-out?
The advantage would be: The computer is only a storage for movies so they are prity save, I can watch TV, record movies direct on to the computer, and have access over all my movies. Which would be very good quality because I look it on a TV and not over a monitor.

Yes, you just need a normal VGA card with TV-Out.

The vids should look fine on a TV but I found it really difficult to use the "PC" aspects of the setup. In other words it was near inpossible to use the TV as a real monitor. For DVD and video watching it will be fine. Using a PC desktop was near impossible with out using powerstrip to lower the res and even then not a good solution.
I am running an ATI 8500 and an older Magnavox tv.....My tv is older and yours may be much better but I was really dissapointed with the results.

Go to www.avsforum.com and read up on the HTPC forum.
Tons of info on what you can use, what stuff to buy, what is free and what costs tons. Good FAQ's too.

well some cards don't allow just the TV out to be used. for example matrox g550. i had it and wanted it for the TV out , only to find you have to have a monitor plugged in to work. i'm not sure about other manufatcurers. i scraped the idea completely after i saw what my desktop looked like on a TV.
