Anybody tried this. No matter how I try to do it with ifoedit I can never play either disc (illegal navigation...)

I know there is sth with extra vob that is not used, but have no idea how to overcome.

I have had a look at it but, at the moment no luck.
It looks like the start of the movie is part way through vts_01_0.vob, which breaks down like this:
1st part menu files as expected.
2nd part is where Tom is out jogging and picks up his drug fix
3rd part is the 20th century fox start and begining of the movie.

Not even looked at the rest of the vobs.

I am going to try and use dvd-decrypter or smart ripper to rip by chapter and then reassemble using vobedit? maybe.;)

This has been covered b4 since there is a bogus vob id at the start of VTS_01_1.VOB.
The video (without audio) is not used at all - just to make it difficult.
Strip it out with Vobrator and resave the 1st VOB.
Then start your split process with the new VOB (approx 750MB in size).

sebus,

cinephile is correct, this is a well known problem with this movie. You can overcome it if you strip "movie only" mode in Smartripper, then re encode using something like CCE.

Guys, don't you understand? I have no problem (see my other posts in ifoedit section) with getting just the movie work (fake vob or not)

I am interested in the navigation for the manu, which is very complicated (more than the fake vob)

Thanks

I had the same prob , I ripped the main movie only with dvd decryter and then I used ifoedit to strip out the subtitles and languages and split to 2 dvd folders, I never bothered about menus , I then created ifo files with the remaining vob files in the two directories :sly:
