Another newbie

I have ripped a movie, processed it in IFOEDIT to remove some streams, trailers and the menu which in the end made it fit on a DVD-R. I kept the subtitles english and spanish. Everything is fine. When I did this, I checked the checkbox 'Remove P-UOps', so it would be possible to change subtitles during play. My question is now before I burn it:

When I Remove the P-OUps, can I swith the subtitles during play(the remotecontrol-button subtitle) without going to a menu(since that has been deleted)?

If not, what good is my 2 subtitles?
