Errors Ripping No Program Work ...now

As this had a few topics to d owith i thuoght the General discussion was the best place ...yes i have read the sticky ;)

i ripped an episode from the fast show series 1 pal dvd . i did have had a bit of trouble upgrading my processor , but now i its done and dusted Hopefully! :D everything works accept ripping . I have run aspi check and then force aspi , still notting the drive is coming up as PIO only as aposed to DMA ....which is strange as it has been using DMA before! smart ripper looks like its unlocked the drive but then errors and closes when actually trying to rip the dvd . dvd decrypter comes up with errors about accessing the files. V strip doesnt actually load ...only the GUI. help

did you try to run the DVD in a software DVD player prior to ripping?

Yes it seems that it may be something other than ripping, as the software player also takes a long time to read it ....it never actually plays , the dvd is in perfect condition, i only watched it once and i have ripped it twice. i also tried men of honour , both seem to be region 2 + 4 although on the box to men of honour it only says region 2!!! :eek: could this be the problem? i have uninstalled my aspi layer and reinstalled + aspi check (everything is good), i have reset bios to optimised defaults (just for the hell of it , you never know) , i checked the master /slave jumper on the 2 drives conected by the IDE cable conected to the dvd drive . im runnning windows 2k SP3 my drive is a samsung 6.12 B (firmware) . After inserting the dvd in question though windows 2k came up with the dialouge box says "windows has detected that you have unplugged hardware this can cause your computer to crash/freeze" or something like that. Oh and it listed my dvd drive. Everything worked fine before my processor upgrade but this seems like im clutching at straws ;) i might go for a FORMAT :D and then if it still happends go for a new drive it was only £40 GBP 2 years ago so its nothing special :( i will be sad to see it go :(
