View Full Version : Another decoding problem with new XviD-release

Hi!

I tested the new Koepi-release 03.12.2002 with B-frames enabled. I encoded Ice Age (PAL) with the following settings:

Motion search: 6
Quantization: MPEG
FourCC: XviD
Max. I-frame: 250
Min. I-frame: 1

Max. B-frames: 3
Other settings: default

I used the included StatsReader 2.0 for the second-pass-stats-file (external mode).

When I watch the created video-file with MediaPlayer in combination with the XviD-decompressor (no other filters loaded), I get from time to time white macro-blocks and other distortions during playback - especially during scene-changes with their keyframes. When I change to ffdshow everything's displayed correctly. Any suggestions

Note: I've set XviD to it's default settings after the installation.

Thanks for your help!
Deltis

Using divx5-compatiblity mode for B-frames is recommended. It would probably fix the issue.

BTW, it should be enabled by default.
