I'm trying to back up "Life is Beautiful" and I'm having trouble importing my .ac3 file into Maestro. I'm following all of the steps from the "DVD-9 to DVD-5 full copy" guide. But whenever I try importing my .ac3 into Maestro I get the error message stating "Cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data might be corrupted. (0xc1070042)" I never got this error message before when importing .ac3 files into Maestro from before, so what's the problem?

sorry this isnt any help, but maybe this will comfort you :) After ~60movies i too am now getting this error....I am trying to figure out if its cause the movies recently have been multiangle.

I tried dvd2avi to demux and smartripper and still get same errors. If i figure it out i will let you know

I think it may have something to do with the multiple angles as well. I have extracted the .ac3 file using both DVD2AVI and VOBEdit, and I get the same error message. The weird thing is that I've tried backing up this movie before and never got this error message, but I never did a good job backing it up so I tried it again and thats when the error messages started. Is it something with the OS you think? I'm running XP Pro.

I'm sorry to have to join in this thread, I too have encountered this error message very recently, it was the .ac3 file for "Jaws" (File was ripped with DVD2AVI)

Never seen it before, and I've done loads of rips.

I use Spruce Up to re author, and it threw it out.

I thought I had a doggy disc. but this is getting a bit of a weird.

if you are using smartripper to extract the .ac3, use dvddecrypter instead.
