When using CCE is there a difference between 1 pass VBR and using the Multipass VBR with just 1 pass? Because it makes a VAF file with Multipass will it work like a 2 pass encode and allow file size to be predicted for the set number of CDs?

I do not believe there is unless it is internal to the way DVD2SVCD tries to figure out the bitrate. I know there have been or still are some issues with 1 Pass VBR and figuring out the correct file size. Maybe the one step button is what has fixed that issue.
Having it make a VAF file is not like 2 passes since on 2 passes it will make the VAF file and still have 2 more passes to go. Think of VBR as 1+Number set for the number of passes.
I have never used 1 pass VBR so I am only giving a informed guess here.

Whenever I want a quick encode, I just use Multipass VBR set to 1 pass. Like Mark, I've never used 1-pass VBR. *shrug* Your choice, I guess.

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear...or I'm just not following the responses.
If you do a 1 pass VBR you can't predict file size. If you do a multipass 1 pass will you then have correct size prediction?
Thanks for the feedback.

Yes you will, since the VAF is also created (making it technically 2 passes).
