Resizing DivX

If I have a DivX movie with a resolution of 640*272 that I want to burn on DVD-R with the best quality, should I downsize it to 352*240 or upsize it to 720*480?

What format do you want it to be in?

-Stay in DivX?
-Convert to MPEG2 / create VOBs?

How big is the DivX file? 700MB? / several GB?

I might be wrong here, but I think if you want to retain the best quality, you should leave it as is, further processing will not increase the quality, and likely could degrade it.

The Divx is two file on 700 MB each.

I want to burn a standard compliant DVD with Meastro. Maestro does only accept a few different resolutions (ie. 352*240 and 720*480), so I have to resize.

you may as well use the 720x480/576 (letterboxed tho), but try both and see which you prefer.
