This might seem basic, but is it normal to get a 480x576 MPEG-1 file from DVD2SVCD?
It plays slowly and strectched in Media Player, but okay in PowerDVD.
I just want to make sure that this is okay before I burn it. I was expecting a 352x288 file.
Another thing, what's the best program to use to burn the .bin files?

That is standard PAL SVCD resolution, but SVCDs are MPEG-2 not MPEG-1. WMP7+ won't correct the aspect ratio (but your DVD player, PowerDVD, and classic WMP 6.4 will). So if your making an SVCD with MPEG-2 video you should be fine, but if your making an MPEG-1 VCD you have a problem.
The 'Fool Proof' way to burn the bin is by using Deamon tools to mount the image as a virtual CD and then use CloneCD to copy the CD. However, I haven't had any problems using CDRWIN and I hear recent versions of NERO will burn bin/cues fine (older versions of NERO had problems).
You probably want to do a test burn on a CD-RW if your player can read them.

Ok Thanks,
I know that it is the standard SVCD resolution. This must be a problem with DVD2SVCD.

Did you load VCD-Settings.ini in D2S? If so open this ini and look at the settings

If you load the VCD settings you see that under "frame server" now there is an option "Resize to" and it says VCD (352x240/288).
Thats what you missed when you made the movie.

Thanks, I got it.
In the "Misc." tab, DVD2SVCD level was at Normal, and that setting was hidden.
If I plan to watch the VCD on a DVD player on a widescreen TV, is the best aspect ratio to use "Anamorphic"?
It will give a streched VCD and the widescreen TV will resize it to the proper size.
