i recently tried to backup my copy of monsters inc. but it wouldnt play on my standalone dvd player .. i was wondering if the problem was in the image name that the original dvd was made with i believe it was "Monsters Inc." and all of the other dvds that i have successfully burned the images were all capitaslized like "SSENSE" which is the image name for sixth sense ... i was just wondering if anyone else has come ascross this problem... thanks for any input you guys can share

i don't think that is a problem. the way i see it the image name is just a refence name, because if you create an image in nero you have to change the disc volume ("new" by default) which will be your DVD "label" after you burn. as for the image name you can call it what you want. it's probably something else.
by the way which software did you use, for the image and for burning???

edit:
by the way the ALL_CAPS theory is not true..
i have a disc Labeled DVDVolume and guess what????
:D :D :D

yes it does work...
in case you're still wondering!!!

thanks for the insite ... i have done about 30 dvd9 to dvd5 copys successfully and this was the first one that i came across with that kind of image name thats y i thought that it might be a problem.

i use CCE, and Scenarist ... to make the image i use the imgtool 089... and i burn with gear pro dvd 6.0:D

well actually i came across that "DVDVolume" more than once.
i haven't done any dvd9 -> dvd5 yet. i wanted to learn how to record first. so when i have problems with this process, because i most certenly will (lucky me, NOT!) i can be certain that the problem lies in the conversion, rather then on the recording to the disc.

yeah but the title DVDVolume still doesnt contain a space without an underscore ... for example 13_GHOSTS has an underscore instead of being like 13 GHOSTS .. i was thinking that maybe the problem was with having that space in the image name ??
