Hello everybody!

I've read many guides here and on other sites about DVD authoring. Thus I've learned how to put MPEG files, create chapters, put subtitles, and so on.

But there's one thing I couldn't find: how to author different audio tracks on the DVD.

Given an MPEG2 file, if I have 2 or more audio tracks, how can I put them together on the DVD, letting the viewer choose one of the different track and change from one track to another while viewing the video? Which software should I use? I'm afraid SpruceUp can't help me...

This both applies to ripped-movie (if I'd like to have different languages, for example English and Italian) and to captured tv series.

For example, on the UK DVDs of a tv-series there isn't the Italian audio. Since I recorded on videotapes the Italian dubbed episodes, I'd like to author the episodes ripping the video and the 5.1ch English audio from the DVD, and adding the 2ch Italian audio.

Thanks everybody!

Bye bye.

Did you give IfoEdit's Authoring Mode a chance?
You simply add your video and audio stream(s) plus optionally subtitles and IfoEdit creates your multiplexed vob files.
It's really that easy.

But what your endeavor (adding another audio track from analog tape) ist concerned: Good Luck! You'll find out that it's close to impossible to get that track sync'd all over the movie. I once tried to do this with a DVD (Hannibal) and an audio track from digital television (same movie length) but failed completely due to minor variations in both versions of the movie. It's really annoying but you can easily notice out-of-sync audio if the offset is only 100 msecs...
