Frame selection for AVI source

Dear forum,

why is the option "Use frame selection" not active when converting avi/divx source?? Is this feature only for DVD source? It would also be very helpful with avis!!

It's not for AVIs at this time. I'm not sure if it's possible and just hasn't been done, but I'm sure there is a good reason.
