VCD Support RETURN KEy?

hi.. i want to know if VCD support RETURN KEY?
because i made a VCD with Menu and Sub menu and when im in the Sub menu i cant go back to the main menu

i try with my DVD stand alone et PowerDVD = does't work!

I have the APEX AD-1100W, Does anobody have this problem?

on my remote i have Backward,Forward,Next,Previous,Play,Stop,Menu,Title etc.. etc..
i think MEnu or Title mean RETURN to the MAIN MENU?

1. VCD does supoort RETURN key.
2. Only very, very and very few DVD standalones have the "RETURN"-key (some called it "GO UP"-key)for the use in VCDs/SVCDs. If you are a lucky dog and own such a rarity, you can use it to call the main/up-menu. But you have to define his function at first(see descrp. bellow)
3. The Buttons "MENU"/"TITLE" are designed for navigation in DVD-Menu/Playback. When you press it during (S)VCD playinback, the most dvd players interpret it as "switch PBC on or off", the rest do noting for it. If it switched the PBC off(you'll see the "PBC OFF" on TV screen), then press the "MENU" button again(some players need twice) the player will switch the PBC on again - and you will see the main menu again.
4. On most dvd player there is the button "PBC" which is designed for (S)VCD playinback and has the above mentioned funktion(switch PBC on or off). You can use it in the same way.
5. For (S)VCD menu navigation you need to define the interactivity for every button on every menu page(selection) in the authoring software.
So learn more, try more and then report your achievements.

i dont have the PBC key on my Remote and the MENU/TITLE button does't work :-( for my VCD MENU. I will test still more later...

Question: If I will buy a universal remote with PBC button, do you think that could work?

P.S I have used ULEAD MOVIE FACTORY to make my VCD MENU (Simple Menu) and with the PREVIEW mode (with the ULEAD remote software) my vcd work but not in my dvd standalone) Ulead use the RETURN KEY!

What a pity you've got a realy poor machine.
Buying a universal remote control will not help you, I'm very sure.

But it is still possible to navigate the menu structures via the "Play", "NEXT" and "PREV" buttons. Please use the authoring software "VCDEasy" instead of MOVIE FACTORY. It is not so easy to create menus like MOVIE FACTORY, but you have all controll. Please read more guide for VCDEasy and VCDImage at www.vcdhelp.com

Ok
1-When i put Vcd/SVCD in my DVD i can see on the SCREEN PBC ON
and i must push PLAY Button to play the VCD

2-My DVD Accep PBC fonction but my remote dont have this KEY ?!?

3-do you know what can i do?.

Becaue Apex 1100W is very popular for VCd/SVCD cheap price
but i have the new 512k (with VCD no support) but with the special firmware i can play vcd now.

SO far I know many Apex player can play VCD/SVCD and almost every formats without any modification, really mutifuntional. I dont have such one so I cannt give you more hints except what I've said above posts(VCDEasy) and trying more.

Forgot to mention, you can press the button "STOP" and then "PLAY"(on some remote "Select") to get the main menu, on the player with auto-resume function sometimes you have to press the "STOP" twice to get this work. Or simply press "Eject" twice.

If i press Stop and play the vcd restart
and if i press stop double time (no effect) BUt in DVD its quit the DVD

while restarting the vcd the player should reload the main menu.
Or after eject and then reload(insert) it should also be there.

Or... I hope that is not true... have you ever see a menu page of your vcd? When?
