Ok, i am still trying to backup my friends dvds with orginal menus. And i am very close. here is what i have so far:

vts01 contains 5 episodes and has 7 PGC's and 6 vob-id's

vts04 contains 1 episode with d/c track.

i have encoded vts04 and got it working with orgnial vts01 vobs. Its encoding the vts01 series i am having trouble with. here is what i did with them
1. ripped and encoded in cce. so now i have all 5 episodes in m2v and ac3 format.
2. re-authored them with ReelDVD so that i have them in the correct order inside of one VTS.
3. i used ifoedit on the orginal ifo to remove all the subs cuz i dont want them. Here is where the problem starts. The new VTS that ifoedit makes is just one PGC. So i cannot move the new vobs into with the other files. It will not work with the menu now that its in just one PGC. tried updateing it with ifoupdate to redo the PGCs but that didnt work either. So this is where i am at. I dont know how to strip out the subs and get an ifo file that retains the PGC structure so that i can use ifoupdate to make an ifo that will work with my newly authored vobs. Can ifoedit remove strip out the subs but retain the correct PGC structure? If there is a way to do that, i think i can handle it from there.

thanks in advancd

Yes, there is. Don't use Create ifo. Instead open video_ts.ifo with IfoEdit, use "VOB Extras" (on the top now) to strip streams out. Save it all to a new folder.
