trouble running GKnot with Win Xp

We have changed operating systems from Win ME to Win XP Pro and now GKnot will not work. For some reason it won't accept divx 3 codec...help please:D

try uninstalling GKnot and then reinstalling. if you simply updated from ME to XP, your registry is probably screwed up (I know mine was). it would be better to reformat your HD and do a clean install IMHO.

Thanks for your help. I shall try that. Would rather not format again if I dont have to so we will see what happens.

I can't say that I blame you. First, go to the Options Tab of GKnot and Delete Registry Entries. Delete the GKnot Folder, and reinstall the whole thing again along with the updates. At the same time, I'd recommend getting the newer version of AviSynth and the newer version of Decomb. Replace the Decomb.dll in the GKnot folder with the newer one, and the Decomb.html doc in the Docs folder with the newer one. Both are available in Doom9's Download section.

Thanks for all your help....got it running again and now just need to set up the setting again....i do love this forum
