Adding still jpeg picture to DVD movie....

Wanting to add a still image or picture to the beginning of a dvd movie. How do i do that and what software do i need? For example if i backup Total Recall which is 4.2gigs. I would like to personalize that movie by adding a still picture or image to the beginning before the movie starts then goes on to the main menu. PLease help -thanks

use your prefered editing program to create a avi (which you then compress to m2v) of the image at the length you desire, and import the m2v into your authoring app and drop it in front of the movie.

make sure to either add silence to the start of the clip, or a separate clip.
