Hi again,
just a quick question

I'd like to encode my movies with bith DivX and/or XviD...

Now the problem is that to encode with DivX the version 0.26 is needed, while to encode with XviD it is needed the version 0.23

So the question is: is it possible to use the version 0.26 with Xvid?
I tried but I got errors from VirtualDub...

On the other hand, is it possible to install both version of GKnot on the same PC avoiding any conflict?

Of course I tried to search for this subject in the forum but I didn't found anything

Thanks for the answers

Sorry maybe I donīt understand you correctly but there is no support for Xvid in any Gknot version... you can install the latest one and use it to create avs-file (press save, not save&encode), then open the .avs manually in V-dub, select "fast recompress" and choose Xvid codec to compress. Very simple;)

EDIT: From Doom9 homepage check "The guides -Divx guides -Xvid" its all there

Hi-

to encode with XviD it is needed the version 0.23

Have you ever tried this? As far as I know, you can't encode using XviD through any version of GKnot.

Edit: You beat me to it Iznogoud:)

Yes, my question was not clear enough

I am following the manual that's on your site, and I'm just doing what you told

The procedure is to create the AVS with GKNOT and use VDub for the rest, that's fine

But the guide says to use the 0.23...or at least the link points to the 0.23
I tried with an AVS created using the 0.26 and I got an error
The same started from the 0.23 worked fine

That's where my question was coming from :)

Any other idea?
I have made a couple of try without success :(

Do you happen to use Fast Deinterlace? In that case try updating to Gordian Knot 0.26.1.

Or better yet, use a better deinterlacer.

No, the source was not interlaced...anyway I am using the latest version of GK
Nothing particular, in the movie

It also went fine with the 0.23

These answers let me think I can use the 0.26 to create the AVS...I will try again...I will reinstall everything from scratch and try again checking all the parameters...

Both DivX and XviD should work with whatever version of Gordian Knot you're using. As long as you have all the filters/plugins you're using it shouldn't be a problem.

What kind of error did you get?

N_F sayd: "What kind of error did you get?"

A very good question, unfortunately I don't have it here in front of me and I don't remeber very well, VDub aborted the job

However if you say it should work I'm quite sure I've done something wrong

I've just reinstalled everything (including the OS) because of an HW upgrade :D and I will check it again

I face the error I will post again

Thanks again
