Hello everybody,
I was reading FAQ & some of the last posts, but cannot found anything matching what i'm looking for.

In brief:
i've configured DVD2SVCD following tutorial section in Doom9, setting audio section to: primary language = italian (only this, no second choice). Then I make D2S rip only (tested both vstrip & internal routines), but when rip is done i got another language (english in this case).
Redone many times...when i press disk icon in conversion tab i just see only italian language selected (box selected & number 1 displayed), but when rip is done i always got english (on DVD there are only 2 languages 0x80 italian, 0x81 english and 0x82 english 2CH)

I need ur help in understanding what happen...i was really surprised of this wrong ripped langage, because first of my recent reformat of winxp i was using DVD2SVCD without any problem.

In brief software I've installed:
Windows XP Pro (not SP1)
ASPI 4.60 (installed using forceaspi)
DVD2SVCD
Avisynth 2.06

Really hope some1 could help, i u need more clarifications please ask me.

Between
In this moment i have not the DVD2SVCD log file, i'm forced to post it here tomorrow...

Thanks in advance, best regards

Have you tried selecting the wrong language on purpose?
Many times the IFO info can be wrong.

Where are you getting the wrong language?
Is it after the final conversion or are you playing the VOB files?

I did too. No way to tell both audios were unspecified. I wanted Japanese but got English. No biggie...just started doing it over in another directory and kill it as soon as CCE started/and the .mp2 audio was created.

Deleted the .bin .cue files. Copied .mp2 (japanese one) over the english .mp2 and did a crash recovery from the cutting and muxing stage and then I was all set.

Thx 4 the answers, i understand i miss some necessary infos here:
1) The film i was ripping: Spy Game
2) The first thing i tryed was selecting the wrong language on purpose (as u suggest) but got again english
3) I got the wrong language just after the ripping step of DVD2SVCD, playing the ripped vob files with Windvd Plus. Expect to hear italian but hear english
4) The default language of DVD is italian (i guess). Because when i put it on my dvd player this is the language i hear without having to select nothing.
5) I've lost the log files produced by DVD2SVCD and i have no more the film, so i can't repeat the process and append here the log infos.
6) I have tested two different versions of D2S 1.0.9 Build 3 & 1.1.x but the results was the same (english language immediately after the rip only step). And another thing here, the version 1.1.x gave me an error or warning message when i pressed the disk icon (told me that there was problems unlocking the DVD, but anyway i was able to start the rip process.
7) I was able to correctly rip the film using smartripper instead, for this reason i guess this is not a .ifo issue (otherwise smartripped should fail too, isn't it?). But the problem here is that in this way i've lost all automation processes offered by this wonderful program (DVD2SVCD), infact the author recommend to use D2S 4 the ripping process (as u know very well of course), so i have not even tryed to use DVD2SVCD with the smartipper ripped vobs (maybe i've wrong here?)

I'm so sorry but really i have not understood ur answer here, what exactly have u done?

Thx

Wait, theres your problem. The ripping step doesn't do anything to the audio, after the files are ripped, every audio and subtitle stream that was on the dvd is still in those vobs. And ive found that windvd strangely plays the last audiotrack when you open a file.

You have to wait until audio encoding is done to judge language, then just play the encoded audio mp2 file and see if its your desired language.

As Tobytl said you cannot use the ripped VOB files as a reference since software DVD players do not allow you to change the audio stream when playing a VOB off your HD. All the audio streams are there when ripped. It's only after the audio extraction that you can tell what audio was used and audio extraction happens after the files have been ripped to the HD.
I would suggest you go ahead and complete your SVCD conversion before you think there is a problem. If you want to check before it's completed then while CCE or TMPG is converting the video play the mp2 file in media player. If it's the wrong audio track then stop the whole process, load the d2s file, select the other audio track and continue from audio extraction.
