cce encoding error

Im encoding DV to MPEG2 using cce 2.62. My original file is an 8 gig analog video capture. I input the settings according to the doom9 guide at cbr. My file is almost finished encoding when i get the following error cce: encoding failed: CBR VBV ovf frame# 70345 (00:39:07:08) P 38376(1.5) max 36003.57(1.4) rel 2373.43 1.07 qsv 62.00->62.00

I have successfully encoded other files. Im just having bad luck with this one. Any translations on that error message? Also, there seems to be ALOT of discussion concerning the best values for DV files. Can someone succinctly summarize what the most commonly accepted values should be for settings for : Upper field first; zz scanning order, linear quanitization scale. Again this is for DV video files, either from a DV camera or an analog capture into DV.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

i am really new to cce, but i'm going to be trying it out with some home DV later on myself, so maybe we can pool our resources and figure this out.

I don't think there's this version anymore. The latest trial version is 2.66.01.07.

i noticed when i capture DV through the firewire port, its set for bottom field first, so i'm not sure why i keep seeing people suggest checking the box marked "top field" in cce?

I think it's widely used. Anyway, you better set to whatever field your source is otherwise the output may be jerky.

CCE only outputs Top Field First. So setting that flag tells the encoder to swap the fields. Since your DV source is Bottom Field First, you need to check the box. Otherwise you'll need to run PULLDOWN or some other utility to reset the TFF flag.
